At Francis Baily Primary School, we believe that a smart school uniform creates a sense of belonging and pride. It helps pupils feel ready to learn and be part of our school community.

Everyday Uniform

• White or bottle-green polo shirt (with or without the school logo)
• Bottle-green sweatshirt or cardigan with school logo
• Grey tailored trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore (no jersey, jeans or cargo styles)
• Grey, black or green tights; grey, black or white socks
• Black school shoes – flat, sensible and practical (no trainers or boots)

Note: 

• Green fleeces (with logo) may be worn as outerwear only, not as a replacement for a jumper.
• Green and white gingham dress may be worn in the Summer Term only.

Foundation Stage Uniform

Foundation pupils wear the same uniform as the main school, with the option of trainers with Velcro fastenings for outdoor play.

PE Kit

Each pupil belongs to a house: Air – White | Earth – Green | Fire – Red | Water – Blue

• Black shorts or plain black sports leggings
• Black joggers or sweatshirt (plain or with school logo)
• Plain black hoodie or green school jumper/cardigan
• Gym shoes or trainers.

Additional Guidance

• Labelling: Please clearly label all items with your child’s name.
• Hair: Hair should be of a natural colour and tied back if long. Headbands and accessories must be small and in school colours (dark green, black, grey or white).
• Jewellery: For safety, jewellery is not permitted apart from small stud earrings and watches. Earrings must be removed or taped for PE and swimming; Smart watches are not permitted. 
• Makeup & Accessories: Makeup, nail varnish and temporary tattoos are not permitted.
• Coats: Children should bring a coat every day, especially in colder months.
• The school reserves the right to decide what is or isn’t acceptable uniform, as fashion trends change.

Plain items in the correct school colours can also be bought from most supermarkets and high street retailers. 

Pre-Loved Uniform

We encourage families to make the most of our second-hand unform sales, run by our PTA:

• Open every Wednesday from 3:20pm in the Green Shed by the Foundation Building (May – July)
• Items cost 50p each
