Working in Partnership

At Francis Baily Primary School, we believe that education is a partnership, between pupils, teachers, and parents. When we work together, children flourish. Parents play a vital role in helping their child reach their full potential. Whether it’s supporting learning at home, volunteering in school, or getting involved with the PTA. We’re committed to keeping parents fully informed and involved in school life, and we use a range of communication channels to help make that happen.

How We Communicate

Channel Purpose
Reception Induction We meet with all new Foundation pupils and parents before they start school. This helps us get to know your child and begin building a strong relationship with your family.
Parents' Meetings Held twice a year (more often if needed), these online video meetings give you a chance to discuss your child’s progress and next steps with their teacher. Find out more on our Parents' Meetings Page.
Information Evenings These are occasional events designed to share important updates with families, for example, changes to the curriculum or school systems.
End-of-Year Report A detailed written report is sent home in the summer term, showing your child’s progress, attainment, and next steps.
Meet the Teacher

Teachers are always happy to meet with parents when needed, and we also hold monthly ‘open classroom’ sessions, where you can look through your child’s work and speak with their class teacher.

If you’d like to arrange a meeting at another time, please contact the school office or speak to the teacher directly. Most staff members are available at the end of the school day for brief conversations.

Hone-School Diary Every pupil has a diary for recording reading and homework. Please sign it daily and use it to exchange brief messages with your child’s teacher. Teachers check diaries regularly.
Newsletters Our school newsletter is sent regularly via email and includes updates, upcoming events, and key dates. It is also published on this website.
School Website We aim to keep this website updated with everything you need. If something’s missing, please let the office know — we’re happy to help.

Two-Way Communication

If we have any concerns about your child, we will always get in touch. Likewise, if you’re ever worried, feel out of touch, or would simply like an update, please don’t hesitate to:

We are here to support your child together, and we always welcome your questions, feedback, or concerns.
