Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome to Francis Baily Primary School in Thatcham, West Berkshire
At Francis Baily Primary School, we are proud to serve families across Thatcham and the wider West Berkshire community. Our school is a warm, inclusive place where every child is encouraged to thrive — academically, socially and personally.
Inspired by our namesake, the astronomer Francis Baily, we believe that curiosity, creativity and perseverance help every pupil 'shine'. Children at our school are supported to develop resilience, confidence and a lifelong love of learning.
As Headteacher, I am privileged to work with a dedicated team of staff and governors who are passionate about giving children the very best start in life. We set high expectations in reading, writing and maths, while also offering a rich curriculum filled with sport, music, and the arts. By the time they leave Francis Baily, our pupils are ready for secondary school and the exciting challenges ahead.
If you are a parent looking for a primary school in Thatcham, I would be delighted to invite you to visit us. Please contact the school office to arrange a tour. We look forward to welcoming you.
