School Trips & Residentials

At Francis Baily Primary School we believe that learning goes far beyond the classroom. Our school trips and residential visits give children memorable experiences that enrich the curriculum, build confidence and create lasting friendships.

Day Trips

Throughout the year, children take part in visits linked to their topics and interests. These might include:

  • Museums and art galleries
  • Outdoor learning centres and local parks
  • Historical sites and places of worship
  • Theatre performances and music events.

Day trips bring learning to life and help children see the wider world in action.

Residential Visits

Each academic year, we offer two residential programmes: one for Year 4 pupils and another for Year 6. These programmes give older pupils the opportunity to experience life away from home in a safe and supportive setting. Children learn to work as a team, overcome challenges and celebrate success; skills that stay with them for life.

Activities often include outdoor pursuits such as climbing, kayaking and orienteering, designed to promote self-belief, leadership and resilience. For many children, these experiences represent a highlight of their time at Francis Baily.

Safety & Inclusion

The safety and wellbeing of every pupil is our top priority. All trips are risk assessed in line with national guidance and staff are trained to manage the needs of all children, including those with medical or additional requirements. We work closely with families to ensure every pupil can take part and thrive.

Cost & Support

We aim to make trips affordable and accessible for all families. Payment plans or financial support may be available. Please contact us in confidence if cost is a concern.
